Recruitment

The politics of recruitment for the Master aims above all to find people who will be adaptable in professional life. As well as an excellent academic level, the Selection committee (consisting of the Manager, Academics and Professionals) is looking for applicants who are open to the outside world with good general knowledge and culture.
A good knowledge of English (ideally with linguistic holidays in Anglo-Saxon countries) is an asset. Group activities, encouraging social development and teamwork, are another advantage.   Good oral expression and knowledge of computer programmes are also important.

The candidate must file his/her application in accordance with the rules set out by the University. Any application filed in a different manner will not be considered. The application must include a handwritten covering letter in French of about a page in length. This should explain the candidate’s reasons for wanting to join the course and indicate his choice of direction either towards insurance or banking. The level of French should be irreproachable.  The curriculum vitae should be serious, accompanied by a coloured photograph of the candidate.   In addition to education, the CV must indicate any experience as a professional or a trainee, including employment to supplement financial resources. It is useful to indicate sports, hobbies, associations or groups in which the candidate is involved, as well as any project or other activity which will help demonstrate the character of the candidate. As indicated in the administrative dossier, the results of each year or six-month period after the Baccalaureat must be provided as an appendix. Finally, two letters of reference may be attached to the application.

Students applying to the Master come from different backgrounds.  Trained jurists are the main candidates. They might come from the University of Toulouse, or any other French or foreign University as the level is considered to be equivalent. They can come from Master I of Law (4th year) or from Master II of Law (5th year) such as DJCE, Master II of business law, private law, criminal law… with the aim of supplementing a general training. The students can also come from other areas of study, if they wish to acquire solid legal knowledge in addition to their specific subject. This Master is thus open to students who have followed a course of High Commercial Teaching, and also to those who have studied management or data processing (as the level is considered to be sufficient).

Usually, approximately three hundred applications are filed each year, of which thirty candidates are selected.
